FETTUCINI CABONARA Pasta Sauce Ingredients: · 1x small tub (300ml) of thickened cream · 1x brown onion (chopped) · 200g of bacon pieces
· ¼ to ½ teaspoon of curry powder
Method: 1. Heat oil in pan and gently fry chopped onion until soft (not brown). 2. Add bacon and gently fry for approximately 2 minutes until cooked. 3. Add cream and gently bring to simmering. 4. Add curry powder (a pinch at first) for extra flavour.
*NOTE* If in need of thickening add 1 tablespoon of corn flour mixed with a few drops of water which is slowly added to sauce while stirring continuously while cooking (so doesn’t blop together in lumps in sauce). Continue to simmer a few minutes while stirring. Cooking the Pasta Method: 1. Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil. 2. Add pasta and cook for approximately 5-8 minutes until al dente (just soft). 3. Drain pasta and spoon sauce over the top. 4. Sprinkle grated parmesan on the top if desired.
